In my OP I mention that Daz does do a lot of work for the Party, that is not in question, nor the issue. The issue is, that yet again, a senior appointment has been made of someone with plenty of dirt to dig out come election time. What's wrong with choosing someone with no dirt?

Maybe they haven't come up as someone willing to do the job, popular and dedicated to the level Daz is. That's the only reasonable explanation.

Do they want to be put in a position of that kind, which has a higher profile and level of commitment? Are they of the opinion that they would be a better choice than Daz? Perhaps such people need to suggest to those higher up that they would be very keen to take that sort of work on.

Congratulations to Daz. He has had some daft pictures up on the Internet but I can think of no better man in terms of commitment, loyalty, hard work and good humour. He's a pleasure to be around and can be relied upon to be true to his word.
