What is 'natural'? If it was 'natural', where was it in Soviet times?
It is simply a passing reaction to social conditions.
There was no Nationalism in the Soviet Union/

    Never heard of Pamyat then?

Cue your insane vitriolic rant to try and cover up your ignorance.....

Perfectly correct there. People react at times of economic stress. They feel threatened, naturally.

In other words, you had no idea that Pamyat existed, just like you had no idea that British special forces operated on British soil e26064.gif

I'm surprised you even know what day it is.

    Are you drunk?

    Nowhere.
Nationalism and its extreme forms are a reaction to change, economic stress and uncertainty and the need to assert group identity in a changing world.
Nationalism is a key part of communism. For instance, North Koreans are nationalistic about North Korea.... some might not be, though.

That is a very good point. Also the Soviet Union appealed strongly to nationalist sentiment when they felt they could use it. The film "Alexander Nevsky" comes to mind but there must be a lot more.

During WWII the practice of having mixed up regiments was noticed to be failing and so they started having regiments made up of men from particular geographical, ethnically related, stocks. This worked far better.
