The question is, would it be better to go for the referendum now, or wait until 2014?
The only problem is that there were less than 200 Scots in the sample. However, the last TNS-BMRB poll for the Herald, in August (which polled over 1000 Scots), showed a 39%-38% Independence lead - a great starting point for the referendum campaign!

Truely for me personally, I would call it tomorrow and believe 'for independence' would win at around 65%.
But it's deeper than that (incedently my 65% forecast is based on 20% hard core unionism in Scotland, however that is dwindling now), this "devo max/independence lite" thingy is a media creation. The two question referendum...... again a media creation.
The SNP (gradualist agenda) is to demonstrate competence in government, then hold a referendum. They did that in their first term as a minority government, yet could not gamble in a unionist majority, on introducing that bill for two reasons. There was a huge risk they would loose control of the bill; as a private member's bill had been hijacked, secondly, it was beginning to look like it would have been ruled incompetent by the PO. The latter, due to the frustrated attempt at the "Bring it on" attempt by the opposition...... because the SNPs bill was ALREADY scheduled for introduction.
The SNP in their manifesto.... to be consistent, said they woul introduce that bill in the latter half of their elected term.
Westminster's version of devo max/indy lite (founded on Calman, yet looks nothing like Calman) is being processed in The Lords right now! Oh those stupid journalists! How can there be a "second question" when the Westminster Act has not yet been passed..... it gets worse. Scotland; theoretically, can veto it on a Sewell motion. One thing Westminster did not expect; in fact they made the rules to prohibit any one party having majority in Holyrood,........... was a nationalist majority!
So to answer your question...... I can wait..... Westminster has so much rope to hang it's self with, how profound "**** up in a brewery" sound right now.
I reckon, shagpile, there will be a Devo Max option in the referendum. It will, though, be much sturdier than the bill going through Westminster at the moment - everything bar defence and foreign policy will be transferred to Holyrood
Loon, I doubt it my friend. Yet, supose you're right..... it has the danger of splitting the vote, and only as a delay for the inevitable; which WOULD happen, not in this mythical 'generation' nonsense, yet probably within the term of the following parliament....... or do you believe a Syrian invasion will not happen after Lybia?
If that's the case why not just have full independence? Unless people still what a British identity tagged on them.
I agree. However a lot of people who are not convinced about Independence may vote for having more powers transferred to Holyrood. I think the SNP would see it as a fall back position & claim some sort of victory if devo max was the outcome. To me it looks like they are not at all confident of winning a straight Yes/No question.
