This is a different problem to the server speed, and not one I have a solution to yet, sorry. Hopefully the next vBulletin update will fix some of these bugs.
I have no idea what that means :)
Oh come on, it is working REALLY FAST now!
As per the announcement, we are getting a new server.
Sorry about that; the database crashed. I am hoping that this was responsible for some of the slow speeds and that the repair might have fixed it.... but that would just be too lucky!
vBulletin is powerful, but very complicated and not at all user friendly for admins. You could try phpBB or even a Wordpress forum plugin.
WRT adverts, you may have noticed that there aren't any...

I am currently talking to the hosting company about upgrading the server hardware. Since I can't find a software solution, brute processing power...
I have no real idea what is causing that problem unfortunately. It is possible that it is a bug caused by the PHP upgrade... apparently vBulletin doesn't officially support version 5.4 yet.
I don't seem to be experiencing any slowdown.... I am wondering whether there is a more general routing issue somewhere.
Apologies for the server issues everyone. I have been preparing a commercial site for launch (you know, the things that pay for the server so that we have the forum....) and this has been abusing the...
Keep the feedback coming... it all helps, thank you.
Did this fix it for anyone?
Are you using Internet Explorer?

Did you try holding down the shift key and pressing the f5 key? That should force your browser to get a fresh version.
That has me very confused! I will hunt around on the vbulletin forums to see if others are having the same issues.
Apologies to everyone for the problems. Hopefully everything is working OK now. If not, please be as specific as you can, including screen shots if at all possible. We have to be able to recreate the...
For anyone still having issues, please do a shift+f5 refresh on the forum home page. All the links should look like this 'http://www.democracyforum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=37' when you hover your...

Essentially there are spammers trawling the web continuously looking for any sites that might be...
Skimlinks is an official plugin and should be fine. I just installed Google analytics.
Thanks. I have finally found a summary posting of the solution so I will work on that later.
That link doesn't seem to work any more. Are you still experiencing it? We are on security patch 3 for 4.2 so I would hope that they have fixed it by now!
It was just the same as before I think with some people being redirected away from the site. Alex is our resident expert and he says that he can't replicate the problem now, so hopefully it is...
Due to a security breach (hopefully only cosmetic), I performed an impromptu update of the software. If anyone notices any more problems, please let me know asap.
