That is of course GB...... The UK, however, will remain until either England or Scotland decide to became a republic.

As far as I'm concerned, if Scotland goes, the UK becomes the Kingdom of England as it was before 1707.

I agree. But we will have to wait and see how the fiddling goes over the next 30 months or so.

Assuming the above post and articles to be reasonably accurate is now the time for the TRUE English to start our own drive for a seperate parliament perhaps leading on to full independence for our land instead of sitting on our nationalist backsides arguing with any and everybody that calls for English unity.
Since the SNPs success I have been attempting to get ALL those "claiming" to be English Nationalist to at least communicate with each other using words and phrases that do not invariably end in "off" but it seems the Scots are a prouder race than we English and putting their country first is a matter of real pride to them, we really should be ashamed, we are looking at a time when the tail will demonstrably be wagging the dog, and we will have deserved every bit of ridicule that may earn us.

Great idea, go ahead and contact some of those people and see what feedback you get. Good luck.

I am afraid that after much consideration and wasted time it is plain now that you are entirely correct I have been in contact with at least a couple of dozen perhaps many more "leading Nationalist Lights" only to find they are small people talking big but without the orbs to do anything other than decry any who may seriously try. These waste of timers skip from one project, party, theme, or concept to another managing to do nothing but pi55 people off and prevent Nationalism getting where it can count and grow, with the people!

It can still be called the UK if it wants to. Britain (not Greater Britain) encompasses Wales & England. It would still be the United Kingdom of Britain & Northern Ireland. Scotland would then be named, that socialist schithole north of Hadrian's Wall & the Buckie capital of the world (to give its full title).

Hi - Its early days yet, much can happen /change before Salmond's referendum. Its doubtful whether Wales , Nth. Ireland would /could contemplate "Independence"
I suspect by the time of any referendum , most people will be so fed up , they'd be glad to be rid of listening to Scots whining.

From an English perspective, that is true. Sccottish perspective, more so. In Scotland, the people are sovereign.

However, 1603...... Unified the Crowns. The Crowns of England and Scotland are united. The Acts of Union formalised that union, in addition to the union of parliaments. The political union will end in 2014. QE 2 will have to abdicate the Scottish Throne to make your statement fact. She WONT.
