NAY

Was watching BBC question time some time ago their was a panel of just labour MP,s.

A man in the ordinance asked how it can be right that a man who has worked paid tax all his life dies and that which he has worked and paid for all his life is then taxed again when the man dies through inheritance tax.

The reply was well we need the money for public services.

My personal thoughts on this is if you can't pay for a public service without robbing a family of what their parents worked so hard to give them then the country can not afford to provide the service.

The socialist theory robbing from the rich to give to the poor is bull s***. In reality the better paid end of the working class get taxed up the **** to pay for the lower end.

The middle class pay a fair bit the upper class get an accountant to shift their money around the world. My accountant says rich people do not pay tax.

A certain amount of tax to pay for basic public services and welfare I am happy to pay. Taxes proportionate to the service i'm happy to pay ie. Tax on petrol should be solely for building the roads etc..

Any thing above is basically theft. Gordon Brown bailing out northern rock a private bank with 50 billion of tax payers money is nothing but blatant theft.

Just looks at what the government spends the money it stole off of you on.

Wars, killing thousands in your name.
Propaganda against you and your children.
Give aways to other countries and supranational bodies.
Enforcement of laws that over 90% of people don't want.
Bribes for people to not work, who will vote for them at elections.
Nanny Statism, where people could quite easily educate themselves.
Forcing you into paying for services that may be shoddy or that you don't want.

I could go on.

You base a system on the corrupt notion of stealing and you get a corrupt system.

We went horribly wrong somewhere and I is time people woke up to this fact.

Only if there's profit in it. Research for rarer diseases/conditions needs government intervention. It is right for the government to intervene where the market fails.

No, but it's nice to know I can walk into a hospital/contract a condition and not have to worry about picking up the bill.

Vote for a Party that increases their funding then.

The cardinal rule of all political philosophy should be that 'the ends never justify the means'.

So, no. Theft is immoral.

All of those I am quite capable of spending money on myself. Indeed, I could do it better.

What would you suggest MKPDavies, instead of taxation. I am genuinely interested in how this would work.

I suggest people get what they pay for and help others as they see fit. IE freedom.

O.K for starters, take the rubbish collection. Those that do not pay are obviously not going to have their rubbish picked up, those that do pay are likely to have an increase in fly tippers. Those that do not pay and simply dump their rubbish anywhere are going to cause a rat epidemic in this country. How would you solve that problem?

Those that do pay for their rubbish to be picked up by private companies are going to be charged a lot more than they are charged now, the reason that many of our services are affordable via the tax payment method is to do with bulk buy.
