I suppose on the basis of what people produce. To make it worth while, the quality would have to be high. Obviously this won't magically happen over night and it would be a long term project, so it would be a matter of quality over quantity.

This forum is predominantly right of centre, judging by what I've seen. How would you achieve the objective manner without a corresponding number of left-wingers and centrals, bearing in mind how difficult it is to overcome instinctive bias?

We would have to encourage as many others to come in as possible. If it was done as a separate website, this might be easier.

You would still have the main corps coming from here, as here is where you have first announced the idea.
Even if you succeeded in attracting some of different political persuasions, you may not be able to keep many for very long in the face of the adversity they would find. Have you ever visited Conservapedia, amongst other places?

It looks like a religious wiki. I envisaged this as more of an in-depth resource for British and EU politics, including references right down to the nitty gritty of by-laws, individual politicians of all levels, speeches, and so on; i.e. all the things that are too insignificant to make it on to Wikipedia.

I am also looking at building a Digg style site for British politics to enable people to find related news items and websites more easily.

Longer term I have an idea for a site where people are able to sign up and support individual policies and statements... which can be submitted by other members or parties. Not only would this provide a snapshot of support levels for individual policies, it could also be used for candidates (either internally in parties or as independents) to present a comprehensive political portfolio to anyone interested.

It's a noble idea. It deserves a chance to become a noble reality.

I'll be up for a bit of proof reading, make sure the spelling and grammar are up to snuff and the like.

I'm way too anti-left biased to write anything objectively though.

John Carter, your opinion of the left is not subjective bias - it is objective truth.

I was wondering whether, given that it is a political wiki, we could associate a forum thread with every article to allow discussion and expression of opinions, as well as developing the facts for the article.

This would work as long as we weren't flooded with leftie trolls. Problem with lefties is that they all think with hive mind (which is why they're so good at getting their way when protesting and suchlike) and never have any opinions of their own which haven't been given to them by their peers after being filtered through the propaganda machine. So if we're going to do that, be prepared for zillions of lefties all saying the same thing and appearing, through force of numbers, like their opinions outweigh those of the freedom-loving peeps already here.
It could be done, I reckon, but there'd have to be some serious moderation in the relevant section to prevent a misbalance. Or that section would somehow have to be kept separate. Or maybe even use a new forum?
