It is now impossible to take any pride in this country. It's a stinking sewer populated by cowardly traitors who have permitted the EU sellout and mass immigration.
All patriotism is now in the past tense. Probably best to regard the UK as a place which we simply happen to occupy until such time as some of us can find somewhere better to emigrate. Our priority then is essentially libertarian. To crush tyranny and create a society where we can do and say exactly what we like. Who knows but a new cult of tyrannicide could lead to the creation of a Britain that could actually imspire pride instead of disgust. |

I voted for I Vow to Thee my Country (cheekily, as I do not live there) but that's because I would like the English to sing it. The whole union should sing God Save whatever monarchical manifestation is occupying the sadly degraded throne at any particular time.
Despite Mike's pronounced personal pessimism this feeling of gloom and disillusion pervades most countries worldwide. People have become scum. Politicians do not represent even them and humanity is facing many challenges, the greatest of which is to stay diverse and intact so that whatever is on its way toward our gleaming planet will be dealt with in time. There must be something worth saving (besides the earth which is innocent), so some of us have to be optimistic some of the time.Feel for ya, Mike. Feel the same. But have a stupid kind of chutzpah that keeps making me believe that some moment might actually produce some man... ![]()

Sure whatever. So I'm not a Libertarian, most people in the Country aren't, get over it. I'm starting to really dislike this overly selfish ideology. Free market sure, freedoms sure, right of ownership sure...right to be a selfish twit...no.

What's selfish about not wanting to be represented by a song?

It always amuses me when I see “Jerusalem” being promoted as an ideal national Anthem for Britain or England. (Britain to me is just England and the provinces when all is said and done!)
It’s the utter irony that escapes most people. The poem “Jerusalem” by Blake was actually a quite marked condemnation of Britain / England and its society. Even so almost anything is better than the horrible dirge we presently have and it's concentratuion on 'er Mage and not on the nation and its people as it should be. |

Now if you were to say instill the principle of "The Wtches Rede" (NOT the Crowley version) then I would agree. |
