Good point. There is nothing worse than bargaining from a position of weakness and desperation. That seems to be what this whole BOO campaign is over, a desperate last gasp of the ant-EU-elements of - it would appear - mostly disgruntled Conservatives, that are too gutless to actually leave and join a primary EU withdrawal political party such as UKIP.

But the post earlier is right. What is stoping a tory mp signing up so we do not fight the seat and then changing his mind?
If Bob Neil hears about this thats what he would do. But then again he has so many jobs im not sure he has the time to come onto this forum!!!

The past thirty years have been littered with Tory lies ,and yes one or two Europhile creeps might try to sign up in the hope of political survival but it is known ,for the most part who are genuine Eurorealists and the list is carefully monitored.Cameron has threatened his Shadow team and Whips with the sack and promises no promotion for those on the back benches who sign up, so those that have are out on a limb from the main party.I am totally at ease with those who have signed up with statements published and those who launched it but have yet to have their statement published on the website, such as Bob Spink who spoke at the press launch. It is sad that there are those that truly agree that we should leave the EU but who put a 'worthless' shadow post and fear of deselection above what is right.
The reality is that we are currently looking at only 10 Tory and one Labour MP.The publicity and eurosceptic public goodwill that this will bring may be priceless as will the prospect of additional serious funding. We have to be streetwise .We must be sure that we hate the EU more than the Tories and act to leave it,but we need 50% + 1 of sitting MPs in the House of Delivery---let's go for it.

Default Better Off Out Candidates

[I should make clear that when I last posted on this forum I was a member of UKIP and on the committee for the Twickenham UKIP CA. I am now a member of the EDP and am on their committee for the London area. I obviously like committees...]

I welcome NF's promise that UKIP should not stand against those of us who are passionately keen to see our nation (England) out of the EU. I am as anti-EU as anyone I have met and signed up to BOO as soon as I heard about it. My anti-EU feelings seem to be shared by every EDP member that I have met, although we do call for a referendum to get public support to take England out.

With the Scots probably going much further down the route of independence after the Scottish elections in May 2007, the UK is going to be changed forever. I would like to see UKIP recognising that it is well time that England got back her own Parliament and that we stopped trying to put the pre-devolution UK back together again. The Scots do not want to lose their Parliament and why should they? The Union needs to be one of equals - at present it is so pro-Scottish and makes very unfair demands on England.

In summary I would hate to see division between those of my fellow citizens who also see through the undemocratic nature of the EU. So it is right that we fight together for an English Parliament ruling a nation that has regained its independence from the EU.
