Someone's voting for David Noakes, according to this poll. Must be a mis-click, surely...
Britgirl, don't read too much into polls on this forum. The average member hasn't seen what's written here. This forum may sway a few dozen votes, but the 'real' race is the one going on behind the scenes with the thousands of members who don't bother to attend party meetings. DCB's leaflet to all members looks great, he's campaigning on real issues and people have heard of the name. I don't think Richard will beat DCB. PS. Every DCB supporter I've spoken to was intending to vote for Farage if DCB hadn't stood. DCB is starting to hurt Farage's chances. |

Richard's address clearly states the issues under the relevant headings rather than having to read through all the copy as presented by DCB. Matter of opinion of course for Richard not to beat DCB is unlikely to be the issue, it will be whether the balance moves to Richard or Nigel. Votes for DCB are more likely to affect Nigel, hopefully thereby letting Richard through. I don't think any of the Candidates are sufficiently 'rounded' to achieve a really decisive winner. |

Firstly lots of people won't vote till close the last minute so an exit poll will be last posting - 2 working days before sept 7th.
Secondly as this is a real election a none of the above option isn't really worthwhile as not voting will have no effect. A don't know option indicates an un-made up mind and a possible vote at some stage but not voting doesn't really matter re. the outcome - plus if you aren't happy with the candidates why not stand yourself. |

It's also very difficult in this party to build up a profile with the media. You may well be known within the party, but the party in general will only vote for someone with a media image. In some ways, having a very poor quality candidate like David Noakes drags the party down. We need people who don't come across as swivel-eyed fanatics. I guess a lot of people haven't stood because they're worried that they wouldn't come across well on TV or radio. I'm just disappointed that Petrina didn't stand. All of the advantages of Richard, plus a better media image, and would be the only female leader of a UK political party. Better still, she can't be attacked in the way that Richard is (GLW etc). |
