I have heard a couple of people say that they would leave the party if Nigel Farage became party leader. Is this a widely held view?

Dumb question 'cos if Nigel wins by a majority vote then obviously the majority would want Nigel as leader and would therefore would not leave.

You are assuming a two-horse race. Although one has already dropped out, we could still end up with four or five contenders, and a win with 40% of the vote or less.

The question was about individuals leaving UKIP, not about whether they wanted Nigel Farage as leader. The fact that any members will leave if a particular person is elected should be worrying for the party.

Of course only 0.1% of the membership come here and they are all weird internet (the devils tool) users.

UKIP can afford to lose a few more thousand trouble makers. The ones that leave are always trouble makers.

There is no pattern.

It is not about who would leave UKIP if Farage is elected, more, who will JOIN UKIP with him as leader. UKIP needs a new TV/media friendly leader - Kilroy had it, but threw it away, Knapman never had TO throw away....

People left the Tories when Cameron, Howard, IDS, Hague etc became leader. Loads of socialists have abandoned Labour because of Big Tone. It's an immature response, but we all indulge.

There are now only 2 credible anti-EU parties - UKIP and (sadly) BNP. I have campaigned against the EU on and off since Feb '74. If I leave UKIP then there is nowhere else to go. It's the same for the rest of you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't leave. Not yet. Heads down. Campaign from within, if needs be, covertly.

Remember (and I learnt this yesterday):

Politics - from the Greek 'poly' - many and 'ticks' - blood sucking little ********!!!!!!

Stay. Fight. Win.

Big boys rules!

Aardvark is right there is nowhere else to go.

But having said that the Cabalistas are not neutral, they will dispense with people to achieve their ends. Anyone who is in their way and percieved as a threat.

The North East & Yorkshire Regions are enjoying a nuclear winter as a result of their actions.

I could happily coexist in the party but sooner or later they will savage someone else.

It reminds me of the Polish proverb of the scorpion and the mouse. they are only acting true to form and their natures

We have been warned on plenty of occasions.

Not a dumb question; look at the apathy vote in the NEC elections; if they decide not to renew...
