Default Should Roger Knapman resign?

Following the embarrassing article in the Sunday Times, should Roger Knapman resign as the party leader of UKIP?

Or should he stay on until the end of his term, which ends in September anyway, for the sake of stability in the party?

It seems a reasonable question, and I have tried to be objective. Several people have called for his resignation on the forum, but it would be good to see whether this is a general viewpoint or just a vocal few.

If you allow Roger Knapman to stay on as leader until September, you will be condoning his actions, no ifs ands or buts.

He should go now - we have a deputy leader - give him a chance to shine.

He has to go.

UKIP was supposed to be a different party - although it has its Mavericks & eccentrics I always believed the one thing it did have was honesty & commitment.

Feel sadly let down today.

As a sympathetic anti-EU outsider, may I say that it is a question of
whether Roger Knapman is more important than UKIP?

If not, Mr Knapman must go, and go quickly if the damage to UKIP is to
be minimised! Credibility was lost with RKS, and recent election results
have not retrieved the situation. A measure of honour & gracefulness
from Roger Knapman is now desparately needed.

If Mr Knapman will not go voluntarily, he must be sacked!
It is not as though Roger is indispensible and desperately needed!
It is not as though UKIP lacks an alternative leader. Nigel Farage has
acquitted himself very well on a number of fronts - not least
BBC1's 'Question Time'! He, amongst others, could be considered.

I fervently hope that the EDP can 'keep its nose clean'!
