I know Christina but this has made me so angry because if anything I thought this party could offer it was honesty and integrity just goes to show how naive I am.

Without trust, business and the country could not function. Sometimes we may get ripped off, but that is better than a society with no trust.

None of you are to blame.

Any grouping will have members who fall for temptations which compromise its principles.

The test isn't whether it has these people, because that's assured, but how it deals with them.

UKIP MAN ASKS?

"Has the Party leader done anything to help the Party over the Local Elections?"

"Is the Party Leader in a position where he commands respect?"

"Should The party leader stay in his position of leading the U. K. Independence party?"

WE WANT OUR PARTY BACK

The position of the Lechlade Group is to Support the Leader until the end of his term, this I have agreed with up until now.

I feel that if there had been a better presence from the top of the Party before the local elections, MY vote may, NO WOULD have been INCREASED.

Roger Knapman may be a fantastic fella, but he is not LEADING the United Kingdom Independence Party.

Default Not a good enough leader

For a small unknown political party, Roger would have been fine. But UKIP is moving forward, and Roger is not letting us. He was an ok leader. I think we need a true leader, like someone like Nigel Farage. I think that he should resign, he does nothing for the party, and many people outside of UKIP do not even know who he is, not the best start hey. He should go. We need a true leader who is going to lead UKIP into success.

Farage???

I think your biggest problem is the 'UKIP are a joke' perception that many people have, including those who want us out of the EU, such as Peter Hitchens. Nigel Farage reminds me of Monty Python's upper class twits, sometimes, and do you really want a leader who has been portrayed as having a fetish for being spanked? That is not going to address the joke image.

Ask yourself a question. Has Nigel Farage been fair to UKIP members such as Lechlade? His rep seems to be one of a master manipulator.

I don't know what Petrina is like in person, but she writes well here, and is also photogenic. To be successful as a party, you need to attract women members and voters, and Petrina may just do that for you, as she would overturn the misogynistic image that UKIP has because of certain UKIP MEPs making jokes which are very inappropriate nowadays. She seems to be a woman who listens, and that is very attractive in a leader.

Is Nigel Farage a good listener? I've also noticed on Question Time and other occasions that his voice is so loud, he comes across as shouting.

Also, do you really want a leader who says 'we don't mind being called fruitcakes and loonies.' The mind boggles. Cameron was wrong to say what he did, and he should have apologised, IMO, but Farage's response was just plain ridiculous!

Shouldn't this thread be in the section titled 'Poles'?

I would suggest that anyone who is serious about promoting NF as the next leader of the Party should consider what a hostile press could do to him if we showed signs of success and they wanted to block our progress.

The tag ‘two Jags’ for Prescott seemed to be used every time his name was mentioned - he may be re-christened after his recent difficulties. Think of the kind of tags they could create for NF, tags that might be used each time his name was mentioned - our position would be hopeless.
