Why do you lot blatantly get away with switching from Welsh to English in North Wales, the moment you get the slightest sniff of a real English person...is this racism.

    This is an urban myth.

    No, really, it's not.
When Ariva (Cowies) first baught Crossville in North Wales, I came across this problem several times.
More than once when Drivers pretended they couldnt understand English speaking passengers.

No, really it is. I'm Welsh with an English accent (so I come across as English) and I don't speak Welsh. I have extensively travelled through Wales (because of a previous job), staying overnight in hotels, visiting pubs, restaurants etc. It doesn't happen, it's just some myth someone started and that has been perpetuated.

Welsh speakers often swap between English and Welsh, especially when English is better suited to the conversation.

Yes the English language has words for things less than 600 years old.
    Like Bws for Bus.

However, I have personally seen and heard this happen.

Every summer I go fishing in Pwheli from charter boats 2-3 times a month and every time I go into a certain Londis shop it happens, so this year I'm going to try and film it.

BTW my ancestory is all Welsh also.
