This has been a very dissapointing result for us in London, I must say. However we must soldier on. National level is the most important, and we still must not forget our success of having our first mp and 2 members in the house of lords. Lets keep working hard.

I speak as a passionate anti EU activist.
The UKIP mayoral candidate impresses those he meets. UKIP has a range of good policies. The Lisbon treaty is still going through Parliament and is very much a hot topic. There is general scepticism about the EU. The nationalist competition in London was weak and divided. So why didn't UKIP clean up? Members of this forum know my views about UKIP recognising its English identity and taking a leadership role - while it has its present level of MEPs and resources. I think these electoral results show UKIP needs to take radical action.

Abject failure is the only word for London. Serious soul searching is required.
All small parties have to ask why the supposedly hated old bunch still get the vast majority of the votes.

They wanted Kenneth out, pure and simple.
Besides, I honestly believe that the London vote should have been a NATIONAL vote; it is OUR Capital city, and the vast amount of monies spent on things like the useless Olympics will be raised nationally. There are simply too many vested minority interests that the likes of Red Ken have relied upon for far too long, for any real democracy to exist in London, and more importantly, for this international symbol of England and the UK to be left to several million immigrant misfits, mullahs and curry-cooking non-English speaking colonists, is too great a risk. Make London a NATIONAL issue. That would see the end of Ken and his cronies for EVER. |

I don't have to live in London, therefore I shouldn't get to vote in the London elections. How my tax money is spent is for Westminster to deal with.
