BBC NEWS | Politics | BNP wins seat in London Assembly

Richard Barnbrook's speech on the BBC web site? Anything on Batten's speech? I heard he called the BNP Neo-nazis -.-, neo-nazis that gave him a good kicking in the 'democratic' elections.

The Muslim vote in London appears to be returning to Labour. Why? Because of pork barreling which is something Labour can do with its almost unlimited stack of cash, and Respect can't do because it doesn't have big money.

The Left List - which is the Socialist Alliance reincarnated - fell down very badly as predicted because nobody wants their Marxist claptrap.

In Birmingham Respect is the party of the militant and noisy Islamic Front.
There is now the danger that the Islamic extremists inside Respect will boot out Galloway and the remaining Trots and convert Respect into an Islamic fundamentalist party now that it has failed to capture the support of "ordinary" Muslims in London. This could be a sinister development.

Lewsiham and Greenwich Tess Culnane National Front 8,509 5.70%
Bromley and Bexley Paul Winnett National Front 11,288 5.56%

Even more scary was the fact that they beat UKIP in some seats.

If the Tory Party really does look like winning the next Election, I expect things will get even worse for UKIP.

Sensible advice for UKIP would be to find pockets of support in constituencies that the Conservatives are unlikely to win. If UKIP can save their deposit in a rock solid Labour constituency where 90% of the UKIP vote came from two "demographically ideal" wards then it will have a large psychological effect even though in practice the constituency is UKIP unwinnable because of loyal Labour blockvoting in the remaining wards.

All small parties will be brushed aside in the marginals.

Anyone know where I can watch the post-mayoral election speeches by UKIP?

As a big sympathiser of the EDP and to some extent UKIP I do find it a little dissapointing that they never achieved more votes, but lets count our blessings that neo communist trotsky hater of middle class Britain has gone. And I'm sure of one thing, and that is Boris is'nt quite as sympathetic towards the EU, he may make the right gesture's to receive EU finances but thats all...

UKIP pushed Labour into fourth place in a number of rural, semi-rural and semi-urban wards in the south of England in last Thursday's local elections. This now appears to be a trend.

UKIP got 800 - 900 votes in some wards in Labour-held Rotherham last week.

I agree, Englishdan, that is it good that Livingstone is out of City Hall. Livingstone is pro-euro, pro-EU Constitution and pro-EU Superstate. Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, is opposed to all three. Many UKIP people in the capital gave their 'spare' (second preference) vote last week (which they could not use for UKIP) to Boris Johnson MP in order to help get UKIP-hating lefty Livingstone out.

Labour will also eventually get back most of the anti-Iraq 'war' protest voters they lost to the europhile Liberal 'Democrats' at the last General Election. This will not be good news for the pro-EU Liberal Dims regarding their declining prospects at the next General Election.
