It would increase his chance of holding on to the biggest directly-elected office in europe (after the French Presidency).

My view is that I do not want that important political position held by a UKIP-hating europhile who (unlike Boris Johnson MP) is in favour of the euro and EU Constitution.

I couldn't give a **** what an EUphile wants me to do. I still won't ever vote for pro-EU people. If everyone did that, we would be out of the EU.

Yes it is true that if everyone voted for anti-EU people we would be out of the EU.

But that doesn't change the fact that the europhiles wanted people to abstain or vote for small parties and not give their 'spare' vote to Boris Johnson (in yesterday's London Mayoral Election) so that UKIP-hating europhile Livingstone keeps the top job in London's City Hall.

In a reverse situation (i.e. if we had an anti-EU Mayor of London) the europhiles would turn out in huge numbers to try to get him/her out in an election. They would not abstain.

Reporter Simon Harris (at London's City Hall where the result of yesterday's London Mayoral and Assembly election will be declared in the next hour) said on ITV 1 London news at 11.38 pm tonight "It is looking like the BNP will win one seat on the London Assembly."

Alistair Stewart, presenter, said on ITV 1 London news at 11.39 pm tonight "Unofficially it seems that Boris Johnson is the new Mayor of London and that 'Ken' Livingstone entered City Hall today for the last time as Mayor."

The same thought has crossed my mind. If he (Livingstone) has been defeated he could well run again for the 2012 London Mayoral election.

And I was wrong, he was wrong! Even adding Left List votes to Respect's number, Galloway wouldn't have made the 5%. However, Respect did better in Brum. Labour have lost the Sparkbrook/Sparkhill immigrant community vote. They got no respect for Muslims because New Labour stands for everything they don't.

Looking at the results, can you believe the National Front still have so many voters? They stood for seats on the assembly. These are their results. Very scary

It just proves what I and others have said all along. That Respect was an absurd alliance between the massive ego of Galloway and militant and self interested Muslim groups on the one hand and the Trotskyite remnants of the SWP and other red riffraff in the other. With such diverse views on womens rights and gay issues, it is no wonder it all fell apart.

In Birmingham Respect is the party of the militant and noisy Islamic Front.
