    Default New Leader

The Liberal Party has a new president.

Steve Radford stood down at the end of his term of office, in October, and didn't seek re-election. However, he continues as leader of the Liberal Party group on Liverpool City Council.

The new President of the Liberal Party is Rob Wheway, who was elected unopposed. He is a long-standing district councillor from Wyre Forest. I don't know much else about him yet, and as I am taking a bit of a break from party politics I can't really say much about what this means for the Liberal Party's policies or prospects.

I just checked the Wyre Forest DC website and you are right - no sign of him on the list of councillors. My mistake! Sorry about that.

I think I was fooled by this page here, belonging to the Wyre Forest Liberal group. I think it must be out of date, and he must be an ex-councillor:

    CLLR ROB WHEWAY

    Wyre Forest District Council Committees

Community and Leisure Services Policy and Scrutiny Panel
    Miscellaneous Functions Committee

    Liberal Group Spokesman

    Community & Leisure Services
The photo of him among the other Liberal councillors' photos is hardly flattering!

I wish the Liberal Party all the best under their new leadership.

The Liberal group on Wyre Forest DC work closely with the Liberal Democrats, putting forward a joint budget proposal. Rob Wheway, is (or was) a member of the British Group of the Liberal International, I suspect a less Euro-sceptic line and a more friendly relationship with the Liberal Democrats, than under Radford.

'rjt', apart from their anti abortion stance, what else would you back them for? They're only against the EU because It doesn't fit in with their World governing Authority stance.
