The traditional Liberal party always did well in the South West, it's a shame they lost their way and became the Dim Libs.

as they don't want to leave the EU though they are not an alternative to UKIP

I see from the updated councillor list on the Liberal website that the three Liberal district councillors in Torridge have now been joined by a fourth - Philip Pennington. I don't know exactly when that happened. I don't think he is an ex-LibDem like the others, and unlike the others he isn't representing a ward in Bideford.

Torridge District Council - Liberal Party Group

The Liberal group (4 councillors) is now nearly as big as the LibDem group (5).
