So come on then, tell me the reason for England losing it's independence. Makes no sense to me.

About as daft as the USA giving up its independence to form a union with Canada.

It didn't lose its independence, English Whig oligarchs decided it would benefit more with the union, it was they who basically forced the union through.

Whatever way you look at it, neither the English nor Scottish public were asked if they wanted this union.

The referendum's long overdue.
