rjt, if you met two people, one you liked the other you didn't, how would you feel if the one you liked turned out to be an Atheist and the one you disliked turned out to be a Christian, would it change your mind as to who you liked and didn't like?

No but I would still vote for the Christian.

Unfortunately rjt, that statement proves you judge people not on their worth as a human being but on their religious faith! I freely admit I don't like Muslims because of their attitude to women and animals, but Atheists don't necessarily have the same attitude to women and animals. If as reported in the Old Testament Abraham really did cut that poor bloody sheep's throat instead of his Sons, just think of the "Trillions" of animals since then that have gone the same way, just because of that supposed act!

In that case it would depend on the view of the atheist regarding whether they would seek to preserve christian values and not seek to descriminate against the church. If the answer to that is no then I would abstain.

DO all Muslims have the same attitude to women? Unfortunately Kernow that proves you sterotype certain groups.

If an atheist knocked on my door and said I am in favour of abolishing the link between Church and State and do not favour any ammendment to the Abortion Act do you really expect me to vote for them. If a Christian knocked on my door and said I will appose any exetension to the abortion act and ensure Church Adoption Agencies do not have to let gay couples adopt Childrenb of course I am more likely to vote for them.

There are of course circumstances as I have indicated to Smidgey where I would not vote for either. But as a Christian Gods Law comes before all others so I must consider who is most likely to serve God best if elected.

Just like you I have been shaped by my experiences, no doubt for instance you have good reasons for wanting the death penalty restored where by contrast I do not.

Well my two quarrels with Muslims are Halal slaughter and their treatment of Women! I have yet to hear a Muslim condemn either!
