But the ideology is certainly not irrelvant so there is in fact no difference.

No problem with Clegg saying he doesn't believe in God, but typically he wants it both ways by adding that his wife's a catholic and his children are being brought up as catholics.

Indeed, but of course if he were to become PM ( mercifully that will nver happen) he would be in a difficulty as he has to advise on the appointment of the Archbishop of Canterbury, I am convinced that is why Blair never converted to catholcism during his time at numebr 10.

Personally I respect Clegg for giving an honest answer to a straight question unlike Cameron who stonewalls or lies his way out of every corner, notably the 'coke' question.

David Steel was on radio this morning saying that his 'Christianity' had informed his campaign for abortion. That's one kind of so-called 'Christian' we can do without.

I was an atheist for decades and I was always prepared to state my views when asked. Clegg has plenty of time to return to the Faith.

There is, you have dodged my point - which was that the political persuasion affects the politics. If there is a Christian and an atheist and they are both libertarians, it should matter no more than if one likes Coca Cola and the other does not.

As far as I am concerned Clegg and his disgusting political party can get lost - and so can Steel who got the vile Abortion Act through.
