Default Lib Dem reports his own party to the EC

In tonights South Wales Echo........ the Welsh Lib Dem candidate at the May Assembly elections and former candidate for the Vale of Glamorgan parliamentary seat Mark Hooper has resigned from the party and reported them to the Electoral commission after they repeatedly failed to declare a £2,000 donation from a supporter, a Mr David Stevens from Llancarfan.

The donation was banked in October 2006 and despite repeated warnings from Mr Hooper that it had still not been declared he claims that the party has still not registered the donation

He go's on to claim that Officers from the party attempted to persuade him that any reporting of non compliance could have political consequences for the party and may potentially be seen as a disciplinary issue.

He has resigned from the party in disgust and requested an investigation by the Electoral commission.

Just to lighten the day.....
Is there any significance in a Welsh paper calling itself the ECHO?

I wonder,is it anything to do with valleys and stuff?

Cool Can do better!!!!

What is it with people today? There seems to be systemic corruption across the board, from plcs to playground operators!!

It's not just political parties. It seems an "if I can get away with it who cares!" mentality. Not good enough, I say!!
