Default "I don't want federal europe" claims europhile Huhne as he calls for vote on EU

‘Chris Huhne, the committed Europhile and Liberal ‘Democrat MP (who is to stand again for the leadership of the Liberal ‘Democrats), said 11.53 pm on ‘This Week’ on BBC 1 Television on 18.10.2007 “I do not want a federal Europe – but as soon as the EU ‘Amending Treaty’ is on the Statute Book – I would like to see a referendum on our membership of the EU.”

In response to his comment Labour MP Diane Abbott and Michael Portillo, the former Conservative MP (both also guests on the 'This Week' programme), said “Only because you think it is easier to win than one on the EU Treaty.”

It is hipoctitical when Labour need the support of the Lib Dems in parliament to pass the treaty.
But they act like there is nothing they can do. Shame on them........

Smile EU LibDem Chickens or Huhne!

“I do not want a federal Europe – but as soon as the EU ‘Amending Treaty’ is on the Statute Book – I would like to see a referendum on our membership of the EU.”

It's meaningless twaddle! Huhne by the way is German for chickens! Are they crossing the road or doing a Gordon Broon?

I could have sworn that "Henchen" was German for chickens.

Have I been wrong all these years?

I think we're both right. I found this on the net.

Tim Gracyk's Phonographs, Singers, and Old Records -- Carl Fenton

Carl Fenton's Orchestra was originally led by conductor-arranger Walter Gustave ("Gus") Haenschen, whose own name was ill-suited for commercial records. German names were not likely to sell dance records in America immediately after World War I (loosely translated, the German name "Haenschen" means "little chicken"); moreover, "Haenschen" was difficult to spell.

Huhne means chickens (plural) so probably is given to one who keeps them.

Default General Election, anti-Iraq 'war' protest vote

Exactly. I hope they do very badly at the next General Election (and in all other elections before it).

They haven't got the anti-Iraq 'war' protest vote to rely on next time - so are sure to lose some seats whatever they do.

Default Pro-EU Lib Dims, euro, EU Superstate

Exactly. It is time the europhile views of the Liberal Dims were exposed. The more the voters learn about the pro-EU Views of the Dim Libs the less likely they are to vote for them - whatever word games the Lib Dims try to play to disguise their fanatic support for the euro and EU Superstate.

Strangely enough,Lib supporters are traditionally a lot more EUphobic than their party. They just seem to overlook this aspect when voting.
