Commenting on today's [Tuesday] Public Accounts Committee report, which found that bureaucracy in Jobcentre Plus' was affecting the efficiency of Personal Advisors, Liberal Democrat Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, Danny Alexander MP said:
"Huge bureaucracy and poor IT is preventing Personal Advisers from doing their jobs effectively.
"The amount of time Personal Advisors spend with clients is vastly less than in the private and voluntary sectors.
"All back to work help should be delivered by independent organisations, with Jobcentre Plus' role dramatically scaled back.
"Such radical reform would empower talented staff and deliver real help to the millions of people on benefits who want to get back to work.
"Brown's bureaucratic state has completely failed to deliver over the last 10 years."
