Default Barroso to address Lib Dem conference

Just spotted this on BBC Parliament and thought I might flag it for anyone interested - Barroso is to address the Lib Dem conference tomorrow afternoon (17/09). Preaching to the converted and fanatically pro-EU Lib Dems, I suspect.

Default Barroso, Liberal Dim Party, EU Commissioner, conference, Delors, Lady Thatcher

The Liberal Dim Party conference is the natural place for Barroso to be - after all, the Liberal Dims are the political wing of the EU in the UK.

This is useful ammunition (if it is correct that Barroso will address the Liberal Dim conference) for the eurosceptic and anti-EU movements to use against the Liberal Dims in the future.

The general rule is that no EU Commissioner get involved in party politics. This rule would be breached if Barroso does turn up at the Liberal Dim conference. Delors, a previous EU Commission President and keen supporter of the EU Superstate now under construction attended the Labour conference (at the invitation of Kinnock and made a speech clearly designed to annoy Lady Thatcher (who was Prime Minister at the time).

Thank you for that information Kananga. If they show it on BBC Parliament tomorrow I'll try to watch it and see what Barroso says and what comments are made by members of the europhile Liberal Dims before and after he addresses their conference.

I saw a couple of minutes of coverage of the Liberal Dim conference on BBC Parliament earlier - the conference hall looked at least 60% empty .

Default Vile Lib Dims

The Lib Dims really are a vile party. I hope they do very badly at the next General Election (and in any local or other elections held before it).
