Europhile Sir Menzies Campbell (his party currently stuck on 15% in opinion polls - down from the 23% they got at the last General Election) has told today's Observer that he is here to stay as Lib Dim Party leader and beyond the next General Election
.Well, considering the next General Election might be just over five or six weeks away - he might not have that long left as leader of the nastiest party in the House of Commons. And when he says he'll lead his party into the next election and beyond it - haven't we heard those words somewhere before? Weren't they not the words of his predecessor as Lib Dim Party leader Charles Kennedy just before he was forced out? And the words of one or two other former party leaders shortly before they were deposed? The report on Campbell's claims that he is staying as Lib Dim leader can be found here: http://observer.guardian.co.uk/polit...170224,00.html Last edited by Britannist; 16-09-2007 at 02:25 AM. |
