Default 'Liberal Dims should call it a day'

"Liberal Dims should call it a day" writes a well-known columnist in the europhile and pro-Liberal Dim Guardian (quote from the article and a link to it can be found after clicking on the following link and looking in the section dated 7.5.2007):

The Lib Dems need to discover a point.

Default Liberal Dims, Simon Jenkins, Guardian, EU

Just a small correction - the article criticising the europhile Liberal Dims can be found in the section dated 9.5.2007 (on the link in the first posting to this thread).

The article is titled "Simon Jenkins rips into the Lib Dems."

It contains some very strong (and well-deserved) criticisms of that party which is, of course, nothing more than the political wing of the EU in the UK.

Just the standby of 3 actually.

Default Liberal Dim europhiles

The Liberal Dims are the most pro-EU political party in the UK with the possible exception of the Scottish so-called Nationalists and Plaid Cymru.

I make the Tories numero 1. They have implemented more than any other party.

Blair has pushed them close, with the Lib Dems coming a distant 3rd.

Default Europhile Liberal Dims are extreme europhiles

I was disappointed that one poster to this forum who is a member of UKIP has admitted voting for the extreme europhile Liberal Dims.

It is a mistake for any anti-EU person to give their support in any way to the the political wing of the EU in the UK - which is what the Liberal Dims are.

The only reason why the extreme europhile Liberal Dims haven't done more to transfer further British sovereignty to the EU is because they aren't in power at Westminster (thank goodness). If they were in power - you'd soon know what an extreme pro-EU government in the UK really looked like.

The leading figures in the Liberal Dim group of MEPs in Brussels detest UKIP.

I know for a fact that a large number of Conservative Party members don't think much of the EU and certainly don't like the euro. You'll find this attitude in most Conservative Associations.

But a typical Liberal Dim constituency meeting will be full of europhiles. They regard sovereignty as "outdated" and want the 'main' parliament to be in Brussels. This is the view of former members of that awful party who have - to their credit - joined UKIP and never looked back.

As a party - and as a group of people - the Liberal Dims are hideous.

Their main policy - above all other views they may claim to have - is adoration of the EU and of the "european integration project" (i.e. the forced merger of the UK into the EU single state).

The Liberal Dims have (not surprisingly) a reputation of being the worst party in the House of Commons and they are more pro-EU than any other party in the Commons (except, possibly, for the Welsh/Scottish so-called Nationalists).

All UKIP members should regard the pro-EU Liberal Dims as a main electoral target for the party. UKIP beat them in number of votes in 2004 (in the EU Election) and should be aiming to replace them as 'the third party' in the UK.
