Two Liberal 'Democrat' councillors convicted of cheating

New of that political arm of the EU in the UK known as the Liberal 'Democrats' (who are neither liberal nor democratic):

Two Liberal ‘Democrat’ councillors were convicted (after a three week trial) by Preston Crown Court on 19.10.2006 for rigging a local election. Manzur Hussain (fifty eight years old) and Mozaquir Ali (fourty four years old) used proxy votes to ensure the re-election of the latter. The court was told that 160 electors were denied a vote in the June 2004 elections because of the scam. Hussain called on people at Daneshouse and Stoneyholme in Burnley to collect forms which Ali then filled in as if the real owners of the forms were on holiday on polling day. The forms were used to cast voters for the europhile Liberal Dims. Ali was re-elected by 369 votes. Both Ali and Hussain were arrested in October 2004. Sentencing will be on 23.11.2006.

Spot the common theme again.

When is our pathetic government going to adress the fact the Muslim faith seems to create cheats?

It's getting beyond the joke now. Also, if they are willing to cheat in this area, it is almost guaranteed that they do in other areas.

What are the government doing about this?

I would say it is not necessarily the Muslim faith that leads them to cheat, rather the system they came from. Most Pakistanis live with the idea that cheating, especially in elections, is part of life, whether they agree or not. It goes on even today in the whole area of public life in Pakistan. Until they are able to recognise free and fair elections for what they are - the democratic process - we will continue to have this happen.

Another problem is that in the South Asian "community", so-called leaders can exert considerable mental control over supporters. It was not long after the emancipation of women in this country that men, mainly Labour voters, would say to their wives "Now I'll know how you voted!". This is the same in the Asian culture and mentality, but spread across families.

The two councillors above who allegedly cheated are certainly not the first to have been accused of such a thing in the ranks of the europhile Liberal Dims.

The Liberal Dims have the worst reputation in British politics for playing dirty. Ask any seasoned campaigner in any other political party and they will confirm that this is true.

The Liberals have always played the electoral system to suit themselves and, shorn of the cheating, that is the only way that we shall progress. The postal vote swindle is an open goal for cheats - Pakistani or British but it cointinues becasue it is felt that it increases left-wing votes.
