Default Labour membership fell

Brief extract from the article on the link in posting number three to this thread:

"Labour membership fell to 182,000 in 2006, compared with 407,000 in 1997."

A landslide on 39%!!! It's a bit like having your cake AND EATING IT!!

Would we be so mad as to let them have yet more time in government?

Yes!

Because there is no worthwhile political opposition in this country unfortunately. Does anyone believe Tory toff Cameron will in any way make life better for anyone in this country?

I know I don't - and I suspect most of the public feel the same way!

Default Labour, General Election, Conservatives, England, unfair electoral map, boundaries

It's actually possible for Labour to win a General Election on a smaller share of the vote than the Conservatives. Labour could win from 3% behind the Conservatives (in national/UK share of the vote) due to an unfair electoral map (i.e. boundaries favour Labour and the distribution of the Labour vote across the nation more beneficial to Labour in marginal constituencies).

As we know, Labour got more seats than the Conservatives in England at the last General Election despite getting less votes than the Conservatives in England.

Default George Galloway MP, General Election, 25th October 2007

Leftist Respect Party MP George Galloway has just said on TalkSport radio "I think there will be a General Election on 25th October (2007) - just before the clocks are altered - the bookies are (allegedly) now giving even-money on an Autumn General Election."

I don't either. Cameron has absolutely no idea. Why else would he urge his party to give Bliar a standing ovation in the House of Commons? Cameron and his duff Tory Party are a part of the problem and not the solution. They have spent ten years navel gazing and still don't know the reasons why they lost so heavily in 1997.
