Europhile Minister Peter Hain 'clashed' with Rory Bremner on television yesterday regarding Mr. Bremner contacting Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett and pretending to be someone else:

Such a vulgar little man, another one who sold all his principles to get high office. So many of them about.

I remember shortly after he took over the Northern Ireland office he stated in the commons that the DUP should immediately share power with Gerry Adams and the IRA, a booming voice interupted him saying ' dont ever tell me what to do!'

This man is unfit for any office let alone to be DPM.

Hain is a fool for going up against Bremner. He's quite a popular character and Hain can only lose.

Hain's appointment as Welsh and Northern Ireland Secretary is an insult to the people's of those two parts of the UK. It's a pity the independent party at Blanaeu Gwent (who hold both the Assembly and Westminster seats at Blanaeu Gwent) don't try and defeat Labour in Hain's Neath constituency as they did in Blanaeu Gwent.

mkpdavies please don't insult such a noble creature and as for that slimy oik Hain it's ok to dig up cricket pitches but not spoof a cabinet minister especially one as dozy as beckett she's clueless.

I wonder if the hain of 30 years ago could see himself now what would he think
