Columnist Tony Parsons has written the following (brief extract) in the pro-Labour and pro-EU Daily Mirror of the europhile political opportunist Hain (the man who wrote a book in1995 criticising the EU but who turned into a europhile as soon as his pro-EU boss Blair gave him a Cabinet job:
For the ambitious Hain subscribes to the envy and spite that was the worst of old Labour. Hain is playing to the gallery, trying to make himself look like a man of the people on the verge of Blair's departure and a seismic shift in British politics. His real message is, "Gissa job, Gordon". We should all thank him for enlightening us. Because if we don't quite know what makes a fat cat, then at least we now know a fat mouth when we see one.
