Default Lord Sainsbury quits as minister

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/6135666.stm
Quote:
Science minister Lord Sainsbury - one of Labour's biggest donors and a close ally of Tony Blair - has resigned, citing personal reasons.
The supermarket billionaire was one of 48 people questioned by police over the "cash-for-honours" affair.
The rats start leaving the sinking ship.

I have been boycotting Sainsbury's for some time because of his support for Labour. This won't make any difference to me.

Default Europhile Sainsbury quits Science post

He's the biggest donor to Labour and has, therefore, played a part in keeping this revolting shower in Government.

Worse still, he is a committed europhile.

His excuse for going is (according to the BBC 1 Television 10 pm news) that he "wants to spend more time on charity work." Well, at least that's a change from the usual excuse given by fleeing ministers (from both this rabble of a Cabinet and from the useless Major regime before it) which was always "wants to spend more time with the family."
