And there is a revealing moment when Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt records her thoughts of the day - while an adviser coaches her to use a series of buzzwords, including 'pride', 'progress' and 'reform'.

Meanwhile, Danny describes a meeting between teenagers and Cabinet Office Minister Hilary Armstrong as 'stage-managed to an astonishing degree'.

Danny was least impressed by Mr Hutton, who he said did not appear interested in the people he was meeting at a plastics factory. He said: "He arrived in his flash car and there was a man in his new suit who had started a job after two years out of work and was waiting eagerly to talk to him. Hutton gave him less than two minutes."

Danny said: "I was promised expenses but so far I've had nothing and I'm £400 out of pocket. I have been exploited by the very last people you would expect to be exploited by - members of the Labour Government."

interestingly, the printed version states that you can view the outtakes on the papers web site. No where to be found. Has someone been got at?

I've added a comment to the story via the web site asking the above question - but methinks it won't get past moderation...........
