![]() I did try Opera - it seemed a bit too clunky for my liking. I have tried Netscape a few times too (back when it was still being developed), but I always go back to Firefox.

Issues that matter to me in politics the most are our relationship with Europe, I am eagerly awaiting the result of the court case in June to see if Gordon Brown has no choice but to give us a referendum on the EU Constitution, er sorry I mean Treaty. ![]() I am also very worried about national security and the out of control immigration sweeping our country. I am all-for immigration but I think the time has come for someone to stand up and say it is ridiculous now and we need a limit. QUOTE] Why dont you join UKIP? the Conservative's cant do anything about immigration while we are in the EU and they obviosly dont care that 75% of your laws are now made in brussels ![]()

I would rather stay in the EU for what benefits us but stay firm on the issues that matter to us, the EU is good for security, having a whole union on your side in serious events is better than being on your own for example
I would rather stay in the EU for the things that matter, but reject the Treaty and follow Italy's footsteps with what they are doing to calm immigration (I admire them a lot for that) Having said that I will be attending the UKIP Meeting in Nantwich on 19 May, which Nigel Farage will be attending

I will do, I'll make a thread in the UKIP section (providing no one else from here goes and beats me to it)

How do you suggest we stay firm on an issue that matters to us, if outvoted by our EU partners and ruled against by the ECJ? |

I'm something of a novice in politics, I am still learning I won't deny that, but my ideal scenario would be that we loosen our ties with Europe as much as possible, but remain a member for issues of security and keeping good relations with other countries
I'm beginning to want us out now though as I can see that isn't likely to happen, it is very much a kind of "you're either definitely in 100% committed or you are 100% out" as our current stance shows, when we vote for a party who pledges to stay firm on our issues then we just get tricked and our leaders give away swathes of power anyway I think we need another Thatcher in that respect, its a shame that the apathetic public would probably see it as somewhat old-fashioned to have a leader that is so anti-Europe as she was and I fear that if a similar leader comes along then it will all be too late and we would have to leave the EU "the messy way"
