Default Hello

Hello, i'm pleased i've found a forum where i can discuss and debate political issues and i hope i enjoy my stay. I'm a Tory and take quite traditional political views, with Lady Thatcher being someone i'm interested in gaining more knowledge about.

I'm young but very interested in politics and i'm studying History.

Default Welcome to the forum

Hope you are enjoying your history studies.

I point out that in the three other home nation governments/excectives in the UK, nationalists are in power.

So you might care to look at what the history textbooks say about nationalism with a sceptical eye!

Have you read Linda Colley's book on the Union in the 18C yet?

Regards

Andrew

Welcome.
I used to be broadly a Tory as well, although now I am more a liberal.

History is a fascinating subject, a good choice of subject, although not as fascinating as mathematics. I don't suppose I could turn you to the dark side?

I point out that when a referendum on a separate parliament in the north of England was held several years ago the response was an overwhelming 'no'.
Just out of curiosity, what is it with you and your obsession with the English? We are all human, are we not?

Yes Akria is a "liberal" but he pushes man made global warming which tries to control the entire poulation through lies and deception.

That's his role on this forum by the way.....

What aspect of history are you studying Blue Right ?

Yep, still got Windoze installed in case I need it, but trying to use Ubuntu as much as I can. Taught myself some basics in using the terminal, starting to get the hang of it now.

Can't wait for the release of Hardy and FF 3.

Well, according to you it does.

LOL
You've even picked up the Linux-user's vocabulary: 'Windoze'.

I'm using Hardy right now as my main OS (I deleted my Windoze partition this morning, in fact).
The terminal is really cool. I had to go into Windoze about a week ago after using Ubuntu for several weeks straight and I felt so limited by the Windoze command line, it's really not up to scratch.
How did you feel with it at first? Most people get scared by the terminal before they really start getting a feel for it.
