Default Hello

Nice to meet you all.

I currently reside in Australia but come from until three years ago lived in Cornwall(and before that Scotland.) and I'm Scottish, Cornish and Irish in decent and hope to come home soon.

I'm very interested in most politics but particularly all libertarian and decentralist thought being a decentralist and libertarian myself. I also enjoy history particularly British and Celtic history, hence my username by which I'm sure the more knowledgable will be able to guess one of my particular favourite historical periods/events.

Is this just a general forum or does it have an anti-EU agenda? Because I seemed to pick up on that. Being a decentralist I tend to embrace that.

Anyway good to meet you all.

This forum used to be called UKIP Forum, many moons ago. Does that answer your question?

Welcome to the forum.

Hello.
John Graham of Claverhouse.
AKA known as Bonnie Dundee.
There's a song mentioning him too - we sang it at school. I can recall the tune, but not much else. It may come back to me.

And hello to the new member, BD!

I had heard of him. Not sure I'd want my nickname to be a Jacobite one.

All together now...

Ye Jacobites by name
Your faults I maun proclaim,
Your doctrines I must blame
Ye shall hear, ye shall hear...

Why?

After they fell the Stewarts became a rallying point for resistance to the centralising Westminister gov't, particularly in Scotland where they played on the unpopularity of the union.

It is kind of ironic seeing as James VII & II was a ardent centralist when he was in power, but as well as the fact my ancestors fought for the Jacobite cause and I'm originally from the Western highlands and a Scottish romantic, I think they do rater fit in well with my decentralist ideology.
