People and cultures are far more important than the edifices they hide in and behind. But that's just my opinion ... And hardly anyone remembers that we are all inhabitants of earth and that earth is sick and dying in many cases because those edifices are crushing her ribs and gouging out her eyes and filling her womb with refuse tips. Dust to dust, refuse to refuse. Until we break down the things certain people hide behind, and get super rich from, we shall never be able to fix anything. Earth and time, however, will take their revenge.

I was personally talking about the House of Commons being unimportant because of EU takeover - the same as this forum being relatively unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

If you can't understand that then you have some problem using your language faculty. I notice some of you lack an ability to understand the metaphor and metaphorical expression. This will seriously hamper your cultural appreciation.

Try not to keep thinking people are insulting you. Try not to keep thinking everyone who isn't brain dead is a nutjob. My paragraph is easy to fathom even for a primary school child. Why are you having trouble with it and why do you seem to have a truncated sense of humour and a stunted imagination. Who did this to you? Why aren't you able to interpret creative language? British culture (and the cultures of almost everyone on earth) centres on the creative use of language through various complexities of metaphorical rendition. If you can't grasp this at a fundamental level you will shut yourself out of your own culture.

Have the conspiracy theorists done their work? Are they creating large groups of young people who cannot think for themselves because they now fear everything and everyone on earth and distrust all speech. Unless it is about conspiracy?

I say this because it concerns me greatly. Some day all the perceived "nutjobs" you think we are will be dead and then the world will have to be run by people who cannot fathom a simple metaphor. End of whatever culture has allowed this to happen. Without the metaphor you cannot invent anything or think creatively because you lack the "what if" faculty.

I used to think the internet was a great invention and a useful tool for communication. I am beginning to think it may be more of a curse, if not an actual threat.

Yes of course, I understand the metaphor you use relating to the loss of culture in society (hello ? just look at my posts...), and whether you attempt to cast me as "un-cultured" "primary school child" "conspiracy theorist" or not, I am very concerned about it too.

Unfortunately for you, culture is not all about the use of words - it is about liberty, freedom of expression, social customs and things as simple as everyday habits.

Are we really to believe you are the epitomy of culture (or even art) Frith ?
Because you self-pride yourself on being "unique", then you must be cultured ?

But normally culture is shared amongst a number of people, not just individuals who believe they alone are self-labelled artistic gods everybody should aspire to, and nobody can relate to.
Are you a picture of the glorious old days of culture forgotten ?

It's more an elebaorate fake portrait and too unreal to be a symbol or part of the past.

Personally reading your elaborate prose that degenerates into unsubstantiated personal attacks I don't believe it.

If you speak in a way that the majority cannot possibly relate to then you are no symbol of culture - you are but a fake treasure, without real or proper value.

But you would have a much better case convincing others if you actually had anything relating to real culture or anything else to offer.

One only needs to look at the EU and the rise of corporations to explain where the threat to everyday culture originates from But your wishy washy language, however cultured you believe it to be, is without substance, real meaning or depth.
