Hi Hartlepool, shore fishing not up to much at the moment just Doggies and Flounder, out on the wrecks they are getting good Pollack in roe and the usual Ling, Cod, Conger and some Thornbacks up the rivers to about 12 lbs,,,,, cant wait untill the summer when we get some inshore summer species in ie Bass and Mullet for a bit of sport. You do a bit yourself then Hartlepool ?

I used to do a lot of Game fishing in the Caribbean until a few years ago.
Done quite a lot here as well but spread over a lot of years. I like the Macs in summer and cod in winter in this area. |

Welcome Bazzer.
It's funny, but a sea fishing rod and various bits of tackle are on my 'presents to myself' list at the minute. I reckon I'll buy a rod about May time, and start feathering for a few mackerel at first, then move on from there. About £100 should get me a halfway decent rod and spool, plus a few bits and pieces. Maybe I'll have to PM you for a bit of advice! If you hate the Liebour party you should find plenty of kindred spirits here! I hope you enjoy the forum.

Yes in my younger day Hartlepool i would have enjoyed being latched on to a Marlin or two, but getting a bit to old for that now, i would much prefer to be wading the the flats in Cuba with a fly rod after those elusive Bonefish, mmmmmm,,heaven.
Hi Zak64,, yes £100 will get you geared up easily, but if i were you i would give the feathers a miss, its much more fun to catch the Macks on a spinner or by float fishing and more sporting, also by spinning you may pick up an added bonus of a bass or two.....if you need any advice give me a shout, ;-). Hi Alteclansing,,,,,TY for the welcome.... Hi Eurosceptic Atlaticist,,TY for the welcome, yes the joys of living at a resort,,,,,pmsl,,,,,tell me about it,,lol Catch you later. ;-)
