I certainly don't agree with Hartlepool's comment about warning anybody for anything, especially long posts...

Whilst I do appreciate Frith's eloquent and beautiful use of language, I do sometimes wonder if she sees this as a political forum or some kind of english literature forum to express regurgatated historical prose she learnt in school.

I honestly don't mean to cause any offence at all, but I can see where Hartlepool is coming from to a certain extent.
I don't find her posts difficult to read. In my experience it's more a case of sometimes having difficulty understanding what point she is trying to actually make.

But I don't mean to be harsh at all - I do immensely appreciate her contribution and particularly commend her for her recent opposition to the EU.

So please don't change on anyone's account (especially mine) Frith.
We need people with culture and intelligence on here for sure, and I honestly don't mean to make you feel bad at all.

I'm sure we can all learn a lot from you (if we put in the hours !)

I'm glad you feel you can accept people from other constellations on your forum. It's very important to know that there is more than one kind of human and that politics can be a great web of words in which are imprisoned the gems of various points of view and various human facilitators.

I'd like to let you know that I am not regurgitating anything from school or anywhere else. You may be horrified to know that all this stuff is from me. I have always been a wordy girl. I was a wordy little girl and spent hours inventing stories and telling them to the trees. The trees had no option but to endure, but I like to think that maybe they enjoyed at least some of my burbling.

Also I'd like you to think about the idea that one does not always have to present facts and opinions. Often, because our species is a creative and imaginative intelligent species (for the most part) the fable, as in Biblical times and in Bardic times and even in our own time, has its uses and with it goes (alas) the Bard.

As you are a good knight and a worthy conspiracy tale artist yourself, I naturally appreciate your own quite astounding capabilities. Not all of which are entirely fiction, too, of course. Every fire has its little wisp of smoke. And every tale has its audience. The forum is open to the world, so they read every word we write. If they catch one here that is silvery or one there that is dark and another that bites or stings and some that maybe utter prophecy then that is good.

As every fantasy game player knows and every story lover will understand. Politics is the story of our folly. Culture is the story of our truth.

Believe me, I would like nothing more than to admit it as a bunch of tales.

Normally I present hard facts and sources to back up my claims.
I certainly don't waste my time making up tales for the pleasure or sheer hell of it.

Anyway I'll stop coming across as too defensive, and finish by thanking you for your kind words.

Are you one of those men who believes every girl has a razor in her handbag with which she intends to cut off your access to manhood? Have they managed to convince you that the imagination is not a vital part of English cultural output? The Celts are in love with their dreams and dreamers. That is why they have such excellent educational systems and produce so much fine writing and art. They have not been made afraid of their imaginations, or emotions, and historically believed that their dreams were gifts from the Supreme Being, the Spirit of Life.

The Germanic are equally gifted with language capability and the ancient kennings that have come down to us from what is left of our destroyed pre-Christian culture are living testimony to our love of intricate design, both pictorial and literary. Are you bored? Am I "digressing" from boring politics? Maybe, but this is very important for anyone who has been indoctrinated into the belief that we are null and void, have a heritage of barbarism and should really just disappear, or maybe hide ourselves away as we are unworthy. Or that we are, perhaps, all children of some desert god who hates women.

The truth is so much more interesting and we are so much more than the seeming sum of our constituent parts.

The story, the poem, the song are all ancient European legacies of original historical cultural reality. Just as the Bible is for the people of the Middle East, or, rather, the variations of this as there are a few, the Epic of Gilgamesh being the forefather. That was Sumerian, but it contains within it the story of the great flood and of course there are early versions of all these texts that have women in them. Something the patriarchs decided needed expunging before they presented their largely misogynist text to the people as holy writ. Bet they didn't teach that to you in American Bible school. They haven't been allowed to teach it to Jews either since the downgrading of their original Kabbalah.

But for European purposes, the tale or song is the means whereby we obtain important information, both intellectual and imaginative. Those who purvey these things are not evil nor are they serpentine. They are simply born to speak or sing. Or rather they were. They have been replaced by media whores of both sexes, but that is the nature of our dreadful fall from grace.

What is this thing from which I am subverting the children of god? Do tell. I am whispering to them the story of their souls and I am using the voice of their ancestors that is mine by divine gift of words. Long ago I would have been called a shaman. Now I am a serpent who subverts. That's progress for ya.

Politics is a dirty, nasty deception and a scab on the fair cheek of Mother earth, in any culture. Imagination heals this scab and replaces it with fresh new skin. Rebellion is the wellspring of the reborn imagination.
