I have been reading through the forum and some of the posts are very aggresive between the various supporters. I am now so confused as to which party is really representative of what the English want for England. Surely the best way to secure our freedom and democracy would be for the different English parties to campaign the indigenous population, then sit round a table and draw up a joint manifesto to form one united party. This is the only way it will give the electorate a feasible alternative to the three major political parties. It seems painfully obvious to me that nothing is going to be achieved by any number of fractured groups arguing over who has the best policies.

To cut to the chase, almost all of the existing political parties that anyone has heard of, are Unionist and not English. That applies to Tories, Lib Dems, Labour, BNP and UKIP. The largest English nationalist party (with about 1,300 or so members, the great majority of whom are not activists) are the English Democrats. Note that I was their National Treasurer until last month. They are still a Unionist party but also want an English Parliament, fairer treatment for the English etc. I left the EDs, however, because I lost my personal trust in some of their National Council management team. And I think my recent experiences illustrate a general point worth exploring here. If this is obvious to you, then please stop reading it! So here goes: There are no laws, or rules really, to say who gets to the top in any political party. It is very darwinian, very competitive and very treacherous. So, as a generalisation, when the chips are down, many in politics (whether activists in a small party or the big beasts in the Cabinet) do not think and behave in some disinterested way. Instead most see their personal contribution and success as so vital, so genuine, and so important to their party and ideology, that they compete with no, or very few, holds barred to get to the top and/or to stay there. The new "Free England Party", which I and few others have set up, will hopefully have better and more disinterested behaviours than the other parties. But as a pro-Independence party and only set up this month, we have little interest in speaking to Unionist parties (after all, as Unionists they are against Independence for England) and they have little in us. We in my party think that England will gain her independence (perhaps by default when Scotland leaves the Union) but our electoral strategy will be to work with like-minded Englishmen & women and seek electoral sucess by standing for parish and council elections. It is a low cost and low risk way forward, which will keep our feet on the ground and our bank managers happy. If we have judged the mood of our fellow countymen correctly, the party will do well. If the English wish to call themselves "Brits" and are happy to live in an undemocratic EU, then the cause is lost in any event. I think the Free England Party offers hope to the English. I think we will help bring independence, and reform, and renewal to our beloved England. If you are as you seem, you would be welcome to join us. Regards Andrew Constantine

Once, when I first started out supporting my fellow English nearly 8 years ago, I had a dream. (Not only American activists have them)
.I dreamed I was standing in a shallow grave and I knew it represented the grave of England. A large woven basket was on the ground at my feet and as I looked up I could see that a tall strong rose tree was growing out of the grave and was filled with large roses. There was a man on a ladder cutting the long stemmed blooms and handing them down to me so I could place them in my basket. Behind the man was an even taller lemon tree filled with perfect bright yellow fruits. I thought they reminded me of suns. I like to think that this was a dream of resurrection and the rose tree is perhaps the body and spirit of England expressed through something like the Free England Party. |
