Default Felicitations to you all

Greetings.
I am Anthony Smithee, a rather old former Tory from Portsmouth, although for a long time now a Labour supporter after a debate in which I was persuaded that their policies were more effective than those of any other party, and their goals a perfect match for my personality.
Thus far this advice has not been proven wrong.

I am ardently against communism but I also believe that unchecked capitalism is a dangerous thing. I support the nationalisation of key industries and State intervention to prevent private monopolies from forming.

I am a great supporter of personal freedom and civil rights as long as these don't interfere with those of the population as a whole.

Welcome to the forum. It will be good to have some different opinions on the forum. I think you may be the first current Labour supporter to join us!

PS: I had to edit your post as there was some CSS code in there that was playing hell with the forum software.

Thank you for your kind welcome.
It appears that I shall be rather lonely should I be the first current Labour supporter here.

Why are you all so averse to Labour that none of you support them, may I ask?

I apologise for the code. It's a common problem for me for some reason; I suspect that I need a better web browser!

I despise Labour, The Tories and Lib Dems with all my being, but never the less, I am glad you are here.

I truly look forward to seeing how you can back a bunch of traitors, warmongers and freedom haters like Labour.

Please, open my eyes to why people still vote for this shower of *****.

Why don't I support the Labour Party?

Full of Socialists
Nanny State
Pro-EU
spin, lies, spin, lies. Rinse and repeat.
Want to destroy the Lords, and other traditions synonymous with Britain
Political Correctness
ID Cards and 'Anti-terror' laws (when these are used to arrest people like Walter Wolfgang, you know something's not right)
Politicisation of the Police Forces
Making prisons a joke, making it hard to send people to prison (no more spaces) and generally giving criminals an easy ride over victims (Human Rights Act).
Sir Ian Blair

That'll do for now.

Oh, and BTW, welcome, and since when has Portsmouth been in Devon?

Welcome Anthony. Good to have a new member here and good also to have someone with different views.

I don't support Labour primarily because I don't agree with party politics.

Welcome Anthony, I dont support Labour because they have systimatically undermined Christian Values, Have placed the Union at risk with their devolution policys and comitted Political fornication with the IRA, supported closer intergration within the EU, ploughed Billons of taxpayers money into public services with little result and no real reform and lead us into an illegal and imoral war alongsided the cowboy Bush. I could go on.

Welcome Anthony. Not everyone is a right-wing loon on this forum but you'll have some tough fights on your hands and not a ittle personal challenge.

I represent Popular Democrats which is a new Centre Party so you'll have support for maybe half of your personal views. I think the problem will be with the party you support rather than your own opinions.

But I hope you will test these out and not be frightened. This lot scared me once, but now I realise theirs is just a cry for help and I do my best.

Thank you all for your kind welcome; I feel quite at home already.
I wondered how long it would take people to spot the Devon mistake.
I'll correct it now.

I shall endeavour to answer your points about Labour later, by the way.

...but why make the Devon mistake in the first place? Most people on this forum know where they live and many are from either Portsmouth or Devon.

It's an odd question to ask why people on this forum are so averse to Labour. There is the same antipathy on the Tory and LibDem fora. This forum is populated by an odd mix of libertarians, disillusioned Tories, old Liberals, Monster Raving Loonies, English Democrats and even BNP trolls.

Most of us, I presume, have made a conscious decision not to support Labour and are unlikely to be converted, but you are welcome to try. When Labour apologises for launching an unprovoked war on a sovereign nation, scraps ID cards and promises to withdraw from the EU I will take a look at the other policies.
