They managed to read someone's passport chip from about 30 feet away using a wireless repeater link.
Cool!!!!!!

Just to give one example of this, look at what has happened to the business of driving a car down the road with one single data acquisition system, that being a speed measuring device. Look at what they did there and then extrapolate to the point of what could they do if every aspect of your life was recorded and indexed on your ID card. It's all about control but this control is not likely to be for your benefit. Not when they do things like pass a law enabling them to pass laws without an act of parliament. It's your democracy at stake here.
It is quite easy to make an ID card a number only then with referance to the enquirers number (NHS, Police, Immigration) the relevant details would be released.
What is being proposed by Government is where the Police would be able to referance with my military records!
Simple cards would be under a fiver, the cards being proposed are over a tenner.
They are making it so complex to overwhelm the electorate.

Country Codes, Region Codes etc so simple not replicatable with a photo.

The cards they propose are manufactured by 3 companies (excluding china) it is possible to get 3 matching cards by the crooks. If you go to china they will make you as many as you want!!!!!!!!!

What's wrong with id passport implants like cats and dogs? It would be great if you could top them up and use them as oyster cards on the underground, or swipe your head on the scanner in the supermarket? the possibility is endless. The problem is that actually it's not funny at all.

Some US firms already implant staff who must work in secure areas.

You are welcome to have one.

Just don't bother trying to force one on me. I don't want one and it's none of anyones business on why.

Unless the notion of freedom is truly dead and then I will have to be an outlaw.
