I'm kidding, by the way. I actually quite like the French. Well, some of them. OK, just Audrey Tautou and Sophie Marceau.
Can't fault you for that!

've just got a minute and then I have to go, but I'll look at the CIA info when I get back home. Thanks all for the responses. I do know about the complicity and corruption of the major parties and the mass media here, as I've been following all that for years now. What's been helpful in avoiding negative pigeonhole labels during this campaign against the NAU (so far at least) is to have the Lou Dobbs CNN segments available on a video disc that I can hand to the legislators. They can't very well tell me I'm nuts when the issue is being raised very pointedly on CNN, can they? Who knows, maybe they'll still try, but we're loaded for bear and will annihilate them if they try to put their heads in the sand and claim it isn't happening. That's a non-starter. They're going to have to admit it is happening, and that the question is what (if anything) to do about it.

Finance?? BWAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!

In my case, I happen to live just blocks from the capitol building, so I can visit often without any budget. The others involved drive there from their respective homes. We have no budget. The one thing that does help reduce our costs to some extent is that sympathetic legislators sometimes make copies of our paperwork for us. So, I think we're "publicly subsidized" to that degree (probably around $5-10 of copies so far). Beyond that we use our own pockets to create our materials; fortunately CDs and DVDs are rather cheap these days, so it isn't too burdensome.

Default England will one day have her own Parliament

Jamie

As regards the "British" versus English split on this forum, how would you feel if the USA and Canada formed a political Union and all the top jobs went to Canadians who ripped off the US tax revenues to bribe their Canadian voters back home?

The above, very broadly, is what has happened in the UK.

The Scots and some other small nations form only some 10m of the UK's 60m population. Under that nice Mr Tony Blair (who was of course as dodgy as Mr Richard Nixon) the Scottish elite had the following top jobs in the British government:

No. 1 - Prime Minister - Tony Blair - yes, he was not English but basically Scottish
No. 2 - the Chancellor - Gordon Brown - very Scottish!
No. 3 - the Home Secretary - John Reid - very Scottish!
etc etc

To complete the picture the leaders of the main opposition parties were:

for the Conservatives...

Ian Duncan Smith - partly Scottish
Michael Howard - Welsh etc and not English
David Cameron - more Scottish than English

for the Liberal Democrats...

Charles Kennedy - very Scottish
"Ming" Campbell - very Scottish

The above nightmare shows what happens when a small nation can rule a much larger nation through the vagaries of party politics.

If you are still interested (!), I will post on the West Lothian issue. Bet you cannot wait for that one.

Regards

Andrew Constantine

PS there are a number of escaped criminals who post on this forum - they are the ones who post under an assumed name. They are invariably "graduates" of the UK Independent Prison network (UKIP). I would be very careful in your dealings with these British guys - and do not give them your credit card details in any circumstances etc.

Cool! I didn't realise I was an escaped prisoner - what with the proliferance of new draconian laws our dear government keeps passing I thought I was in a prison.

You and me both. I'll have to be careful when using the soap at work from now on.

A warm welcome to you Jamie, I hope you enjoy your stay.

'Brits' is fine by me, although make sure you don't get that confused with 'Brit'/'Britannist' the forum member.
