Default Hello

Hello, I am ordinary joe in the street and not really a letter writer But here goes:

I am angry about the way the ruling elite are dragging us in to this European adventure without our consent. It depresses me that my tax contributions are not really spent locally and that faceless people who seem accountable to no-one can spend our collective wealth and not have to account for it. I don't want to be a European, I don't want my small vote to be drowned out in a community of Hundreds of millions. I don't want the country to fill up with people that overburden our services (whoever they are and wherever they come from). I don't want to be governed by a european parliament or salute the European flag.
On Christmas day I had a quick look at the BBC news and saw the introduction of some discussion on Europe 2005, the intro started like this- I quote-

"Good morning and may i say IF you might be celebrating today seasonal greetings to you".

This is Indicitive of the nonsense that comes from the liberal Chattering class of well off (Never had A proper job) social engineers who are trying to run the country right now.

Things like this infuriate me Where does the BBC get off? i feel sure that the ruling elite do not live in the real world. I have had a gutful of the pc Ideology and law by presedential decree politics. We need to keep democracy local (westminster i mean not local assemblies) and dump this european club.

I Never voted for the welsh assembly, I KNEW that it would turn out to be another expensive useless tier of government that (by the way) are constructing a new debating chamber costing nearly one hundred million when they already have one and when we do not even have our own dedicated childrens hospital in Cardiff, we were not asked for that in the referendum for sure. I voted UKIP in the last election and will again.
I have had enough of these europhiles of the type that I heard on the ubove mentioned BBC discussion and their Breathtaking disregard for the british electorate and our desire to be Independant they must be stopped before they ruin the country we love.

welshbrit :x

sorry about the bad Grammar. :x

Hello welshbrit and welcome to the forum! Don't worry about the grammar
I am another who voted against the assembly, unfortunately since then the assembly has cost millions, with as you say, new buildings, paintings to adorn the walls, security doors, I.T experts. tank traps that don't work, arguments about who sits where, etc etc
Never mind in 2007,the next Assembly elections,We in UKIP are hoping to cause a few upsets, who knows?

Welcome Welshbrit! I fail to see how the anger you feel isn't taking over the whole of Britain.

Perhaps there is a mood change at the moment! Perhaps Bliar surrendering even more money has finally givien people the jolt they required.

If not, then I don't know what will.

Hi welshbrit, and welcome

What's the general view in Wales of the Welsh Assembly? Does it differ between (say) North & South?

Do the other parties all support it?

and so say all of us. This is really encouraging to hear more and more people saying things like this!

John Page

I don't know about north wales but the welsh nationalists i have spoken to are all for a welsh assembly at any price.
I think the referendum for the assembly in wales was a very close thing and in fact i think cardiff voted no.
I understand that the last assembly election was a laughably small turn out and if you ask people in the street to name some A.M's as they call themselves they seem to need to think very hard to name more than two.
In answer to your second question John i should imagine the other parties in wales are all riding the same gravy train, A.M's pay themselves well it seems while they debate insignificant petty issues to no conclusion. Out in the real world a lot of anger seems to be directed at the assembly over the last series of council tax rises and rebanding of property which amounts to b****y extortion.

Yes Blair! (don't get me started on that subject) that man tells porky pies with breathtaking ease while smiling and being sincere.
I thought he said some time ago that he wouldn't give up the rebate without an agreement on the C.A.P or did i dream it?

Lindsay Jenkins presents evidence (Disappearing Britain pages 47-9) that the Welsh referendum may have been (her word) "biased".
