Default Why I'm rejoining UKIP.

UKIP does this, UKIP does that. Heard it. Heard it all. So UKIP has politics. So what?

The fact reamins that we are slipping under and there is not one voice is the halls of power with the balls to say what needs to be said and take affirmative, bold action.

We've been told that the Conservatives are our last, best hope. Cameron? Sorry. I just don't buy it.
So long as the Conservatives harbour traitors like Ken Clarke for the sake of numbers we can be assured that they are cowards. The only thing the Conservatives could do to convince me that they will do what Britain needs is to split them selves right down the middle and expel those who don't agree. It's not going to happen.

We have an opposition so inward looking that it cannot see that the people it needs to talk to are the people who don't vote. It's more concerned with becoming the second coming of the Liberal Democrats and so we still do not have a voice. Reclaiming the centre gound? Is that the best they can do. The man on the street doesn't want centre ground. The man on the street wants tough decisons made and radical action taken.

Even if they did what was needed could you trust them to be consistant? Would they even keep a leader with balls? Probably not.

We have been sold lie after lie after lie.

My colleagues are telling me they don't vote because offspring and elders alike do not get the operations they need and don't beleive any party will do what they say they will. I asked them if they thought they'd get their operations if the NHS had an extra £7 billion a year to play with. The answer was "yes". When I told them how we could get £7 billion extra a year and more besides thier answer was "but there are no parties who will get us out of the EU" to which I think you can guess my reply.

"Ah, but we can't trust anyone to be consistant" came the reply. Well. I'm pretty sure you can't trust a party called the United Kingdom Independence Party to get us out of the EU. It's all in the name.

And that's what it boils down to. You can ***** all you like about the inner workings of UKIP but the one thing you can say is that the message is clear and hard hitting and it is what people want. It's the only voice we ordinary folks have.

For months now I have been quietly seething as I watch my every spare penny rattle down the drain via the tax man. I have even gone as far as saying that I now hate this country. My dear girlfrind is driven to distraction while I bore her to death with what I think is wrong with this country and the causes of it. After many hours of mouth foaming the other night she asked "What are you going to do about it then?"

My preferred option consists of firebombs, napalm and grenade launchers. My second favoured option option involves a squadron of B52's. However, when faced with the practicalities of either option it leaves only one. You can't complain if you're not acting and so act I must. Can I join Labour? Nope. Can I Join the Lib Dems? Why bother? Could I join the Tories? Not on your life!!

So. I guess it's UKIP.

There comes a time when a man cannot sit idly by while his government steals his money and keeps him prisoner. Now I'm a grown up and approaching my 27th year of life I cannot live like this without taking action.

What do you need from me?

great intro. You're where many of us have been - UKIP isn't perfect but frankly it's the only thing we've got.

Some of us are trying to make the party more rounded and electable - we're called the Lechlade group - so follow Tony's links on the front page to find out more.

Hello, Peter, whereabouts in the country are you?

We don't do armed insurrection, as you know (can't imagine a UKIP SAS to be honest!).

I'd suggest contacting your nearest branch to see what they are up to.

The Lechlade Group is planning a tour of the Regions. Maybe you'd find that interesting.

I think you're coming to UKIP at an interesting time. It looks as if the Tories are shifting centrewards to a fashionably pastel coloured future. The Tory Europhiles may be weak enough now for Cameron to be able to carry a policy of withdrawal, but my hunch is that he won't do it because it doesn't look progressive.

It's just starting to look as if this may present a unique opportunity for UKIP - if it equips itself to seize it. This means some radical new thinking about how the party organizes its central efforts.

It will have to set itself new objectives. The strategy then has to be implemented, and I suspect this will be a huge challenge to the culture at the centre of the party. The objectives then have to be implemented in a way that UKIP can do within its resources, and that will require prioritisation, grit and perseverance.

I'm going to develop this theme in a basic little website I'll be knocking up.

Based in Harrogate at the moment. Just started a new job there as a database developer.

Have been surprised by the change in culture recently where it is actually ok to speak your mind about Europe and being a UKIP supporter isnt something to be all hush hush about anymore.

The new leadership of the Tories looks more crass than ever and Oliver Letwin makes Hague in a baseball cap look the height of cool. I appreciate there are good eggs in the conservatives and they're trying to change it from within but lets face it, they've had their chance. Every major victory in the Conservative party for us seems to be swept aside every change of leader and this new one almost certainly doesn't have any balls where radical action is concerned.

UKIP has ****** me off immeasurably in the past and I still feel there are a lot of people in high places who are undeserving but I have no interest in who they are or even what they do anymore. The electorate hasnt heard of any of them so why should I care. UKIP should be treated as a brand name by its members and if you're in the party to climber the ranks then you're in it for the wrong reasons. It's about getting the message out there that it is entirely possible to be a patriot without being a tory or a racist etc.

We need to get out there and change people opinions or get the ones who agree with us to realise how important it is and to stand up and be counted with us.

The working man is who we work for and the working man is who we need to work for us. They don't trust tories and never will and so we should attack them and hold them accountable for their inneptitude over their time in opposition.

I dont beleive that, even if we bled them dry of their votes they'd wake up and do our bidding. They'd simply push more INTO phpbb_lib dem territory. So if we can't chaqnge them and they refuse to change then the only option is to destroy the tories.

If they're thinking what we're thinking, why aren't they saying what we're saying?

So, I will happily stand as a candidate (again) and fund it wherever possible (if needed) and I will certainly deliver promo material if I deem it up to scratch.

I shall help in my region if asked and I will give my time on one condition. That being that you keep inner bitchings of UKIP totally out of my face. I have no time for self agrandising egotists sucking their way INTO phpbb_cushy jobs. If campaigning is what you're good at, do it in the pub and in the street, not inside the party. We've already got too many careerists and voters don't trust them. Neither do I.

This is purely a matter of changing opinions so when that time comes to vote people will say what needs to be said.

I walk around the towns and cities recently and I dont like what I see and I don't like what I feel. Something is very wrong and I feel it deeply. I'm not the only one. Change is coming soon and we have to be ready to present ourselves to the people as the people who know exactly what that problem is and exactly how to fix it.

UK politics is a dead tree right now and to rid it of all those dead branches we need to cut it down at the trunk.

I want my country back. I want to keep more of my wage. I want to see less waste of my money. I want UK forces committed to UK defence with the right equipment. I want to see more people getting off their arses and taking personal responsibility. I want to see fewer people relying on benefit. I want to fewer poeple working for the state in jobs that mean nothing and contribute nothing. I want my government to stop telling me what to think. I want my community policed by qualified, moral people. I want civil servants and government agents to be held accountable when they break the law. I want to see fewer speed cameras. I want them to stop telling me what I can or can't put in my body and when. I want to know my parents can get proper medical care when they need it. I want to go to work on public transport without it taking three hours. I want schools to punish violent kids. I want qualifications to mean something again. I want to see nurses paid properly. I want to see an end to public sector unions acting like their is a bottomless pit of our money. I want people to realise that money from the government is not free. I want to live a life where I am not constantly harrassed for pieces of personal information. I want british industry and innovation free from intrusive and expensive regulation. I want and end to stealth taxes, I want honesty, I want morality and decency to each other, I want community. I want privacy, I want freedom, I want independence, I want a vote and I want a CHOICE!!

Welcome Peter!

It's quite scary how similar a lot of your story is to my own.

You are right though! There is no other option than UKIP!

Woo Hoo! and so say i, this i suspect is the feeling of the silent majority. stick stuff like this on campaign posters/and leaflets, create a focus for those who have always voted for the three main parties because they always have, and are now discouraged and apathetic about the way things are.

A political ticket with this agenda would tap in to a huge well of resentment and frustration with the way our country and way of life is being eroded and dismantled from within with the enthusiastic consent of the ruling elite.

Mr North, Keep on Keeping on! 8)
