Hi, My name is Wayne Harling. I started the Keele Ukip group. Anyway, Im a politics student in my first year. I enjoy jogging, football, tennis and skiing. I attended the Duke of York's Royal Military School in Dover for the past 4 years. It is one of only 2 official military schools in the country. Before that I lived in Germany. I was born there because my dad was in the forces. Anything else you all wana know?

Hi Wayne welcome to the forum, I saw you at a meeting a few months ago in a hotel just outside of Birmingham (upstairs room) didn’t get a chance to talk to you though.
What I would like to know, do you see Ukip as a pressure party or full party campaigning on domestic issues as well as European ones. |

Are you talking of the occasion when Rogar Knapman visited the area. Can you describe yourself abit so I may get an idea of if I remember you? I was with a mate called Paul. Paul and were atleast 10 years younger than everyone else I think.
To answer your question, I believe that UKIP should be on the political front line in every opportunity. In this way we can get our message fully accross and build familiarity with the electorate. UKIP should be a political party because a pressure group wont be able to achieve its aims as effectivly. Who wants to vote for a pressure group. People vote for organised political parties. What do you think? Wayne |

![]() Sorry about the photo but it’s easier than describing myself  It was the meeting that Dennis Brookes chaired with Roger Knapman who went on about the petition, I think it was the one in Stafford the one you have a photo of you and Roger on your website. The reason I noticed you was because you and your friend were the youngest in the room. After campaigning in the last election I believe we have peaked with our anti-EU vote, time and time again I and other ukippers from around the country heard "yes we believe what you are saying but it is a protest vote and we are going to vote for a party for government". People wanted to know what we were going to do about the things that affect there every day life like council tax, hospitals, schools, dentists, doctors, disability, pensions and the likes. I believe we as a party need a new image; we need to re-brand and have a set of core values if we are ever going to loose the pressure party image. If we do not do these things we will never achieve our underlying goal of withdrawal from the EU. We need MPs in Westminster and to achieve this we should be seen as a potential government in waiting. |

Yes, the party should campaign on domestic policies. To many people, Europe seems so far away politically and they want their self interests to be realised. Therefore we do need to express more developed domestic policies such as NHS, education security etc.
I remember you now. Where you arguing with Knapman about his idea of a pressure group towards the end of the meeting? Wayne |

We completely agree with you Wayne. The party must broaden its sights to the entire domestic agenda so as to become a credible political party. Not to mention we might be halfway to getting out of the EU if we do that! ![]() |

One issue that UKIP must press is for the cancellation of top-up fees. Generally people who have a degree have a higher income and less likely to be relient on state help. Therefore, they will be the biggest contributers to the economy through tax. Shouldnt we be encouraging more people to be economically active. Economically active people take very little away from the economy in comparison to economically dependent people. This obviously isnt to target children or OAP's in any way. Opinions please.
