Hello all.
I thought it was about time i started contributing to this forum and so i'm introducing myself. I'm 19 and have been a member of UKIP for almost 2 years. I also now know almost every house in my constituency intimately after pounding the streets delivering leaflets before the election. I am CEO of my business that i have been working on for over 4 years. In 2003 i was involved in government radio spectrum auction to enable my company to roll-out a wireless broadband network. We are now in the process of raising funding to go do something similar. (Inidentally, through my business i have come across many 'fabulous' EU regulations etc. and see first hand how the 'evil empire' really hurts business). For what it is worth, UKIP needs to change significantly if it is serious about making progress. For starters how about ditching the "we want our country back slogan", if anybody is looking for an excuse to label us inward looking, nostalgic, patriotic, right wing etc. there it is. We need to start explaining to people the logical arguements against the EU, not just sound like 'patriotic old conservatives'. If anyone wants to contact me please send emails to harrycaldridge@hotmail.com and i will try to respond asap. Look forward to some good discussions on this forum and hope to hear from some of you. |

There is a lot of underlying support but the response from people on the doorstep is generally 'i would love to vote for you but it's a wasted vote'. People need to be told about Europol and the European Arrest Warrent. Or about the eorsion of our legal system etc. If they see real logical arguements then they may be persuaded. |

Hello and welcome Harry. Good of you to pop in
I agree, sensible, modern policies that the man on the street can look at and say "yeah, that makes sense." and "well, now you're talking!" are what we need. Of course with Anthony running the research groups then we will be getting these policies - we need to make sure the party is in fit state to make good use of them. Alex |

Welcome Harry. Good to hear another young mind on the forum!
Get involved with the work Alex is doing. Improving UKIP's standing with the young is key in my mind.
