I'm not a member of UKIP. I am, however, trawling for a political movement that might actually make a difference. Though I think of myself as a libertarian, I'm much too pragmatic to try to get involved with the Libertarian Alliance. I joined their Yahoo Group for a while but came away disgusted with the lurking racists and hand-wringers, and disappointed with the jesuitical purity of thought that precludes the possibility of any political effectiveness, in my opinion. So I'm here to get an idea of what UKIP is like.

I am only interested in the possibilities of bringing about genuine political change.

You've come to the right place, Peter. Most of us here are anti-EU and regard freeing the UK from the EU straightjacket as the key priority issue. Welcome to the forum.
