Hello Katy.
enjoy the forum. It would be wrong of me to say that you'll find all the posts supportive of Nigel, however please do not be put off! I think we'll enjoy your input and insight. |

Thanks for joining Katy. As C_Steam says, there are many views here, some unfavourable of Nigel, but hopefully always constructive.
What we really would like is feedback on what is happening at the top end of the party (this is the bottom end). Any tidbits that you can pass on would be most welcome. |

Thank you for all your prompt replies!
I hope to be able to pass on many ideas and criticisms straight to Nigel, and anyone else who may be useful. If there is anything I am able to answer, i will certainly do my best. Take care, Katy |

Do you have any comment about the four members of the NEC's withdrawal of support for the current leadership? We need to sort this problem out once and for all!

I think the whole leadership situation is getting out of hand to be frank. As far as I am aware the leadership is not up for negotiation, and no one has brought about any procedures of no-confidence - if any procedures are started obviously the question will be answered quite differently.
UKIP need to be focussing on public image, and the aftermath of the Kilroy-Silk debacle - regardless of whether people supported his leadership bid or not, the fact is UKIPs image has been tarnished. As far as I personally am concerned, any leadership issues brought about now can only be detrimental to UKIPs standing in the forthcoming General Election - rather than getting involved in power struggles we should be focussing on winning back any UKIP voters who may be straying or who are sitting on the fence as a result of the very public questioning of leadership. Out of interest, what is the general concensus here? What is the feeling towards current leadership amongst forum users? I cannot answer this on behalf of Nigel Farage, as I have not asked him, however I wanted to answer as soon as possible! Any answers to questions I do give will not be representative of anyone other than myself unless duly stated. I will, however, pass on any comments to Nigel if people wish. Bear in mind that I shall not be in contact with Nigel until Saturday now. Many thanks, Katy |

I asked myself the same question about the consensus, and this should give you some idea:
http://www.ukipforum.co.uk/about211.html What it comes down to is that people don't want to be forced INTO phpbb_taking sides. There is a lot of support for Mr Kilroy-Silk as a party member and people want him to remain a strong figure. I think that most people here want Roger to find a good compromise solution, and would offer their full support if he could. I don't think that the image of the party has been irrepairably tarnished. If Roger can deal with the situation properly and find a good solution, the party can come out of this looking far more adult than it does at the moment. If RKS is forced out and forms a new anti-EU party, we can kiss goodbye to any hope of getting MPs elected, and it would quite possibly be the death of the party. Quote:
This ominous silence should be a very clear indication to the leadership of what the future of UKIP media coverage will be if RKS isn't brought back INTO phpbb_the fold. We need a shadow cabinet before the end of November. Those spokesmen should be out campaigning on every issue, highlighting the interference from the EU in our every day lives. We need a press release every single day announcing policies, appointments, polls, EU criticisms, campaigns and so on. Roger, Nigel and Robert should be on the TV, radio and in the newspapers constantly pushing the UKIP message. Any day that we don't see a positive UKIP story in the Telegraph, the Daily Mail or the Sun from now on is another day wasted. I hope that answers your questions ![]() |

Welcome Katy! Glad to have you with us! I have found Nigel Farage to be a very good public speaker and an asset to the party. I was very unhappy with Kilroy over some of his statements, but hopefully that is now behind us. I would still welcome Kilroy's return to the whip as I believe he still has a lot to give the party. I would also agree with Anthony's comments. We did seem to go 'on holiday' for three months after the June elections. This happened in Suffolk. The other parties were scared and unfortunately we gave them a long breathing space.

It is all very well saying that UKIP should somehow get positive coverage in teh Telrgraph teh Sun and the Mail, but ou iught to be asking them that. The Daily Mail is an organ of the Conservative party and is interested only in doing us down. Take their last article abut Godfrey Bloom which turned out to be complete fiction. The Sunday Telegraph only mentions UKIP when the have an interview with...Alan Sked, who comes out with the same (uncorroborated) story about Nigel Garage being poured INTO phpbb_a taxi: which comes from the letter the BNP sent us all earlier in the year. The Sun is only interested in UKIP people if they have beautiful boobs or scored a goal for Ipswich on Saturday.
Mr Farage did get an airing when he exposed all the crooks in the EU Commission last week. Even the BBC had to run with that. The uncomfortable fact is they all hate us. Labour and Liberals worry that we might disrupt their agenda to surrender the country, the Tories hate us because we are replacing them as the opposition and the BNP hate us because they want protest votes to strengthen their hand when they do their deals with Labour. With that lot against us we do bloody well! It really helps if we all write letters to the papers pointing out our views then UKIP will become better known and more people will join us. |
